Knots	Limited to the equivalent of 2 sound intergrown knots of a diameter of 20mm on the face and 3 knots of 25mm on the back. Tolerance of small black knots of a diameter of 10mm that are not going to disappear on use.
Splits	Length limited to 5% of the length of the piece.
Wanes	Excluded, except tolerance of superficial wanes on a number limited to 10% of the pieces over 3m in length.
Checks	Length less than one and a half times the width of the piece
Resin pockets	Tolerance of small resin pockets
